"Non-Contact" (NC) fiber connector is the next generation optical fiber connector invented by Arrayed Fiberoptics, where there is no contact between fiber surfaces. There are two key elements in the NC connector, 1) the fiber surface is recessed, 2) the fiber surface has an anti-reflection coating. It offers vastly improved optical performance and longevity. Because the fiber surface is recessed and do not contact the mating surface, NC connectors do not damage connectors under test. This is ideal for all testing needs, especially for testing fiber optic transceivers.
